FCCB Feeds Thousands of Pennsylvanian's

05/27/2020

MANSFIELD, PA (May 2020) In 2019, employees of First Citizens Community Bank (FCCB) reached into their pockets to donate funds that provided over 10,000 meals to those in need through the Central PA Foodbank. And now, in the midst of a pandemic when opportunities to volunteer are few, the Bank is again supporting the Central PA Foodbank with a donation of $25,000.

“Our community is experiencing a unique need due to the spread of COVID-19,” said Joe Arthur, Executive Director, Central PA Foodbank. “We’ve mobilized to ensure our most vulnerable neighbors have access to the nutritious food they need during this uncertain time. First Citizens donation will be used to support our crisis efforts.”

Earlier this year, FCCB employees donated a pallet of canned and dry goods and volunteered on weekends at the Harrisburg and Williamsport locations, packing hundreds of pounds of food. In addition, they’ve donated time to the Food Bank’s Fresh Express program, unloading and distributing fresh produce through the Tioga County Branch YMCA in Mansfield.

“All of the Pennsylvania counties served by FCCB are also served by the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank,” stated Randall E. Black, CEO and President. “It’s not often we find one organization that supports the majority of our markets and champions a cause our employees align with. We have some of the most giving employees, who don’t think twice about donating their time, talent and money to people in need.”

FCCB has donated over $1.5 million dollars to communities in need over the past 5 years. In April, they contributed over $50,000 to a variety of local medical and community organizations who are helping to fight the pandemic.
