Commercial Lender - South Central Region

JOB PURPOSE

The Commercial Lender will be responsible for the development, growth, and profitability of the Bank’s commercial and agricultural line of business in the market area. The Commercial Lender provides leadership, supervision, and direction to the commercial and agricultural sales lending activities to ensure consistency with bank and regulatory policies. The Commercial Lender oversees loan administration including origination, documentation, underwriting, servicing, classification, compliance, and training of loan officers. The incumbent maintains a strong customer service culture that is anchored by safe and sound underwriting practices which focuses on expanding the use of products and services by existing customers and developing strong relationships with new customers. The incumbent assists with the development of new loan products and other services to meet the needs of commercial customers within the Bank’s market. The Commercial Lender, in conjunction with the Chief Lending Officer, develops and implements marketing strategies and plans and monitors sales and growth targets. The Commercial Lender will oversee the Loan Committee and originate loans, complete annual reviews, and monitor ongoing covenant monitoring of existing loan portfolio. The Commercial Lender will manage a number of key customer relationships including the Bank’s larger credits and supervise and mentor other commercial and agricultural lenders.  

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has overall responsibility for the growth and profitability of the Bank’s commercial and agricultural lines of business and is responsible for the overall quality and profitability of market’s commercial and agricultural products and services.
  • Provides supervision, leadership and direction to the commercial and agricultural sales organization and maintains a strong sales and customer service culture that is anchored by safe and sound underwriting practices.
  • The Commercial Lender directly manages a number of key customer relationships including the Bank’s larger credits. Underwrites commercial and agricultural loans within established lending limits abiding by individual authority, committee authority, and Corporate Board approval. The Commercial Lender is also responsible for lending decisions of the other commercial and agricultural lenders in the market.
  • Develops and maintains a personal program for maintaining an adequate level of knowledge in banking matters, competitive factors, management techniques and personal skills, and demonstrates personal and interpersonal behavior, attitude, judgment, communication and initiative with customers and employees in order to ensure an acceptable degree of performance.

SPECIFIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

  • Significant commercial, agricultural, and consumer lending experience. Proven track record of successfully managing large commercial relationships.
  • Seasoned credit underwriter with progressively responsible lending experience.
  • Highly knowledgeable of lending laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Significant experience in analyzing and monitoring credit risk and related trends at both the loan and portfolio levels. Ability to quickly recognize problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage commercial loan portfolios, improving credit quality and overall performance.
  • Experience serving on various Loan Committees.
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent sales and communication skills. Comfortable making presentations in all settings.
  • Proven track record of establishing, developing, and leading highly effective sales organizations.
  • Ability to develop talent and expand the capabilities of individuals and teams through organizational changes, developmental assignments and targeted development plans.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • A four-year degree in business, finance or accounting from a recognized College or University. MBA preferred.

File Maintenance Clerk - Mansfield Operations Center

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the file process by creating, checking the file in, maintaining, reviewing, reporting, providing and closing files with proper documentation in accordance with the policies set forth by the bank and outstanding items documented on the Incomplete Report.

Credit Analyst I - North/Central Region

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyzes financial statements (including performances ratios) of all levels of quality to develop initial assessment.  
  • Prepares written analyses for new loan requests and annual requests which include: Credit investigation of the borrower and guarantors; economic and market conditions as they relate to the company, industry, and market area; in-depth historical financial analysis, including communicating with the borrower’s accountant to gain a better understanding of the company’s accounting practices; in-depth projection financial analysis, including the performance of “what if” scenarios that test the reasonableness of the projections; in-depth analysis of the secondary sources of repayment such as collateral; in-depth analysis of a guarantor’s financial position; and assures that records of sources and supported documentation are imaged and placed in credit file.
  • Provides a written analysis that includes a list of all strengths and weaknesses of a credit, including loan grade or alternative structure, to Business Development Officer.
  • Reviews commercial and residential Real Estate appraisals to ensure that they comply with appraisal regulation and interagency guidelines per the following: addresses appraiser independence and qualifications; assesses the accuracy of the 3 methods of evaluation and the appropriateness of the weighting of each method; identifies and resolves any deficiencies in the report; reports any unresolved deficiencies which in his/her opinion places the bank at risk to Senior Credit Analyst and Chief Credit Officer (CCO).
  • Calculates and reviews borrower compliance with loan covenants and reports any violations to Senior Credit Analyst and Chief Credit Officer.  
  • Reviews sample of commercial loans $300,000 or less each month for compliance with bank policy and underwriting standards and reports findings to Senior Credit Analyst, Chief Credit Officer and Chief Lending Officer.
  • Maintains a personal program for maintaining an adequate level of knowledge in lending, accounting, and other banking matters, and demonstrates personal and interpersonal behavior, attitude, judgment, communication and initiative with customers and employees in order to ensure an acceptable degree of performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall management and credit quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio and is responsible for long-term strategic development of lending practices, policies, and objectives. Provides support, direction, credit information, analysis, policies, and procedures to ensure the overall quality of the Bank’s lending portfolio.
  • Oversees and ensures the soundness of credit decisions by providing recommendations on loan structure, terms, risk rating, and pricing. Evaluates, develops, and updates lending policy as needed. Reviews new loans and products for compliance with lending objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides guidance and support to the Bank’s risk management and compliance efforts by recommending and implementing risk management methodologies for administrative, lending, operational, and compliance functions of the bank. Reviews and writes related policies and procedures to effectively monitor and control risk.
  • Responsible for analyzing and monitoring Concentration Reporting, Troubled Asset Reporting, and Portfolio Stress Testing. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc analyses and Board reports; chairs the Officers Loan committee and participates on the Directors Loan Committee.
  • Collaborates with Finance on Purchase Accounting for Loans, Impairment Analyses, Troubled Debt Restructure, and Non-Accrual Recognition.
  • Manages and oversees the Credit Administration, Credit Analysis, Special Assets, and Collections functions. Ensures the quality of loan documentation, anticipates industry trends, monitors emerging risks, and participates in senior management activities of the Bank.
  • Manages the Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL) process, methodology, calculation, and supporting documentation, including addressing new regulatory guidance.
  • Develops and maintains a personal program for maintaining an adequate level of knowledge in banking matters, competitive factors, management techniques, and personal skills. Demonstrates personal and interpersonal behavior, attitude, judgment, communication, and initiative with customers and employees in order to ensure an acceptable degree of performance.

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  •  Significant understanding of commercial and consumer lending practices.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and concepts related to loan accounting.
  • Seasoned credit underwriter with progressively responsible lending experience.
  • Highly knowledgeable of lending laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Significant experience in analyzing and monitoring credit risk and related trends at both the loan and portfolio levels. Ability to quickly recognize problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and analyze data. Ability to effectively manage commercial loan portfolios, improving credit quality and overall performance.
  • Experience serving on various Loan Committees.
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent sales and communication skills. Comfortable making presentations in all settings.
  • Ability to develop talent and expand the capabilities of individuals and teams through organizational changes, developmental assignments, and targeted development plans.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence and achieving quality results in a timely manner.
  • A four-year degree in business, finance or accounting from a recognized College or University. MBA preferred.

Commercial Lender - State College Office

JOB PURPOSE

The Commercial Lender will be responsible for the development, growth, and profitability of the Bank’s commercial and agricultural line of business in the market area. The Commercial Lender provides leadership, supervision, and direction to the commercial and agricultural sales lending activities to ensure consistency with bank and regulatory policies. The Commercial Lender oversees loan administration including origination, documentation, underwriting, servicing, classification, compliance, and training of loan officers. The incumbent assists with the development of new loan products and other services to meet the needs of commercial customers within the Bank’s market. The Commercial Lender, in conjunction with the Chief Lending Officer, develops and implements marketing strategies and plans and monitors sales and growth targets. The Commercial Lender will oversee the Loan Committee and originate loans, complete annual reviews, and monitor ongoing covenant monitoring of existing loan portfolio. The Commercial Lender will manage a number of key customer relationships including the Bank’s larger credits and supervise and mentor other commercial and agricultural lenders.  

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Has overall responsibility for the growth and profitability of the Bank’s commercial and agricultural lines of business and is responsible for the overall quality and profitability of market’s commercial and agricultural products and services.
  • Provides supervision, leadership and direction to the commercial and agricultural sales organization and maintains a strong sales and customer service culture that is anchored by safe and sound underwriting practices.
  • The Commercial Lender directly manages a number of key customer relationships including the Bank’s larger credits. Underwrites commercial and agricultural loans within established lending limits abiding by individual authority, committee authority, and Corporate Board approval. The Commercial Lender is also responsible for lending decisions of the other commercial and agricultural lenders in the market.

SPECIFIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
