JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the operational functions of office Customer Service Representatives and Universal Associate I positions by setting goals, directing and motivating staff, scheduling coverage, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews to ensure effective and efficient service according to feedback from internal and external customers.

Commercial Lender - State College Office

First Citizens Community Bank, customer-ranked #1 Best-in-State Bank for 2018, is looking for a Commercial Lender to work out of our State College Office.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have the necessary skills and experience to develop successful loan and deposit relationships with members of the business community.   A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending is required as well as active involvement in your community.  

 JOB PURPOSE

The Commercial Lender will be responsible for the development, growth, and profitability of the Bank’s commercial and agricultural line of business in the market area. The Commercial Lender provides leadership, supervision, and direction to the commercial and agricultural sales lending activities to ensure consistency with bank and regulatory policies. The Commercial Lender oversees loan administration including origination, documentation, underwriting, servicing, classification, compliance, and training of loan officers. The incumbent maintains a strong customer service culture that is anchored by safe and sound underwriting practices which focuses on expanding the use of products and services by existing customers and developing strong relationships with new customers. The incumbent assists with the development of new loan products and other services to meet the needs of commercial customers within the Bank’s market. The Commercial Lender, in conjunction with the Chief Lending Officer, develops and implements marketing strategies and plans and monitors sales and growth targets. The Commercial Lender will oversee the Loan Committee and originate loans, complete annual reviews, and monitor ongoing covenant monitoring of existing loan portfolio. The Commercial Lender will manage a number of key customer relationships including the Bank’s larger credits and supervise and mentor other commercial and agricultural lenders.  

 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABLITY STATEMENTS

  1. Has overall responsibility for the growth and profitability of the Bank’s commercial and agricultural lines of business and is responsible for the overall quality and profitability of market’s commercial and agricultural products and services.
  2. Provides supervision, leadership and direction to the commercial and agricultural sales organization and maintains a strong sales and customer service culture that is anchored by safe and sound underwriting practices.
  3. The Commercial Lender directly manages a number of key customer relationships including the Bank’s larger credits. Underwrites commercial and agricultural loans within established lending limits abiding by individual authority, committee authority, and Corporate Board approval. The Commercial Lender is also responsible for lending decisions of the other commercial and agricultural lenders in the market.
  4. Develops and maintains a personal program for maintaining an adequate level of knowledge in banking matters, competitive factors, management techniques and personal skills, and demonstrates personal and interpersonal behavior, attitude, judgment, communication and initiative with customers and employees in order to ensure an acceptable degree of performance.

SPECIFIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

  1.  Significant commercial, agricultural, and consumer lending experience. Proven track record of successfully managing large commercial relationships.
  2. Seasoned credit underwriter with progressively responsible lending experience.
  3. Highly knowledgeable of lending laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  4. Significant experience in analyzing and monitoring credit risk and related trends at both the loan and portfolio levels. Ability to quickly recognize problems and implement corrective actions.
  5. Proven ability to effectively manage commercial loan portfolios, improving credit quality and overall performance.
  6. Experience serving on various Loan Committees.
  7. Strong collaboration skills with ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  8. Excellent sales and communication skills. Comfortable making presentations in all settings.
  9. Proven track record of establishing, developing, and leading highly effective sales organizations.
  10. Ability to develop talent and expand the capabilities of individuals and teams through organizational changes, developmental assignments and targeted development plans.
  11. Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence and achieving quality results in a timely manner.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  1. A four-year degree in business, finance or accounting from a recognized College or University. MBA preferred.
  2. Familiar with bank compliance policies and procedures.
  3. Represent the Bank in key community activities including; business, charitable, civic and social organizations.
  4. Serves as a mentor and role model for other Bank personnel.

 MINIMUM EDUCATION generally acquired through the formal education process and includes the ability to:

  1. Use rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists, use logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, and to interpret a variety of complex instructions.
  2. Perform basic arithmetic operations to compute discounts, interest, profit, loss, commissions, markup, and selling price, ratio and proportion, and percentage.
  3. Read literature, a technical journal, financial report, and legal document. Ability to prepare an article, editorial, journal, manual, and a critique. Abilities to prepare and make a comprehensive presentation, participate in formal debate, communicate extemporaneously, and communicate before an audience with poise using correct English.

Proof Operator/Mail Clerk - Mansfield Operations Center

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process proof items by amount keying, repairing, balancing and encoding daily transactions in an accurate and timely manner in accordance within the defined standards. Assists with teller system problems as needed to meet established deadlines ensuring branch personnel are released as quickly as possible upon completion of branch proof work.
  • Perform a variety of Bank Statement and Notice related duties by organizing statements and notices for stuffing and mailing. Manage sorting of incoming mail, and prepare statement and bulk mailings in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Process Check 21 image files (in-clearing, Fed-Forward, and returns) by preparing and transmitting electronic files. Ensures accurate, timely, and complete transmission of file as well as inclusion of all proof work in daily files.
  • Images Signature Cards, W-9’s, and other bank documents in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures documents are indexed accurately to allow quick and accurate research requests. Perform a variety of operational support duties such as but not limited to validating CD renewals and notice information. Investigate and respond to a variety of requests for research by completing internal and external requests for statements and item images in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service by answering phones, assisting customers in an accurate, timely, and courteous manner and ensuring timely contact with couriers. Constructively interacts with coworkers by cooperating and communicating to ensure a smooth operation in the department. Provides support and assistance to ensure a pleasant work atmosphere.
  • Picks up lockbox payments from post office and sorts and captures payments for inclusion in daily deposits. Records and mails exceptions to appropriate lockbox customers. Transports data tapes to offsite storage, and performs weekly courier run between main branch and data center.
  • Provides backup for day and night computer operator for NetTeller and customer E-statement setup.  

HOURS:

  • Hours will average approximately 30 per week (Monday-Friday), and may include working evenings.

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to use general office equipment such as 10-key calculator, personal computer, copier, mail room equipment, and other job-related equipment.
