Mickey Jones, Sr. EVP Chief Operating Officer, Retires After 20 Years of Dedicated Service at FCCB

After two decades, Mickey Jones, Senior Executive Vice President, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at First Citizens Community Bank (FCCB), has announced his retirement. Jones’ last day will be Friday, June 7th, marking the culmination of a remarkable career with FCCB.

Jones joined the First Citizens family in 2004, assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer. Throughout his tenure, his dedication and leadership have contributed significantly to the bank's growth and success. In recognition of his exceptional performance, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2010, where his strategic vision and operational insights continued to drive FCCB forward. Since, Jones has been a key player in multiple acquisitions and openings of new offices. His ability to integrate new teams seamlessly into FCCB's operations has been instrumental in expanding the bank's footprint and market presence. As the bank grew quickly, Jones’ leadership helped teams deal with challenges like added workload, managing complicated tasks, and adjusting to new ways of working. He encouraged a culture where people were open to new ideas, worked together, and always tried to get better, even when things were busy.

"We extend our deepest gratitude to Mick for his invaluable contributions to FCCB over the past two decades," said President & CEO, Randall Black, of FCCB. "His commitment, expertise, and tireless efforts have played a pivotal role in shaping the bank's success. Mick's leadership has been instrumental in navigating challenges and seizing opportunities.  I will greatly miss our daily interactions and strategic conversations we have. But wish him all the best in this next stage of life."

In recognition of his continued dedication, Jones has graciously agreed to continue working one day a week, providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure a seamless transition.
