First Citizens Community Bank has made a generous contribution of $10,000 to the Potter County Education Council in support of educational programs for youth in Potter, McKean, and Cameron Counties. These funds, which were donated through the Pennsylvania EITC program, will be used to support Information Technology career exploration camps scheduled for Summer 2014.
These camps focus on various IT related careers that are classified as high demand occupations in Pennsylvania. The goal of this program is to introduce youth to technology careers, the skill sets needed to be successful in these IT careers, and educational opportunities to prepare them for jobs in these fields. This program is offered in partnership with the Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center, local school districts, and local industries.
Thanks to the support of organizations like First Citizens Community Bank these camps can be offered free of charge to local students. Once finalized, information on summer camp programs will be available on the Potter County Education Council website, through local media, and distributed to students through area schools.
